Introduction

The Korean Business Association (KBA) of Columbia Business School is a professional and social organization for Korean students, Korean-American students, and any students simply interested in Korea.  Formed many years ago, we have progressively grown larger and stronger with each passing year to meet the needs and wants of our membership.  Armed with a current membership exceeding 60 CBS students, along with a sizable network of alumni located throughout the world, including New York, Seoul, and Hong Kong, we work to benefit our Korean brothers and sisters and help them to achieve the highest level of success.

In this 2008-2009 year, 17 new members joined KBA. It's been a great step forward and we are very sure that KBA will be more successful next year.

What We Do

We hold a wide variety of events, including Chazen Korea tour, inter-business school mixers, Happy Hours, Korean BBQ nights, poker tournaments, golf tournaments, alumni receptions, and guest speakers.  We work closely with the other Asian organizations in the Business School to increase our exposure to issues and themes that are relevant to Korea.  We also work with other Korean organizations within Columbia University as well as non-profit organizations in the New York area to broaden our reach and assist in mentoring and volunteering.  Please refer to the events page and join us in our upcoming events.

Who We Are

Our members comprise a range of ages, origins, and hometowns within the broader Korean community and include non-Koreans, as well.  We are well represented in Korean students who have traveled to the US to earn their MBAs as well as Korean-Americans who are proud of their Korean heritage and want to interact with their brethren.  We represent a wide range of professional backgrounds, including investment banking, private equity, sales and trading, equity research, management consulting, information technology, law, journalism, and general industry.  Please feel free to contact any of the members of this year’s executive board.
